Google Glass official walkthrough video shows off homescreen and user interface [VIDEO]

Looks like Google is officially going full steam ahead with Google Glass — or, as we say in the hood, hard in the paint. There have already been a few walkthrough videos popping up online and attempting to show off Glass' user interface which, up until recently, has been all but a mystery to most of us. To better give users a better idea of what the future will be like looking through Glass, ‘ol Googs took to the official Project Glass YouTube channel and uploaded their first video dubbed “Glass How-to: Getting Started.”.

iPhone Rumored To Be Arriving On Boost Mobile's Network

One of the drawbacks to prepaid carriers is that their phone offerings usually leave something to be desired. Well the good news is that if you were planning on switching to a prepaid carrier, such as Boost Mobile which is powered by Sprint's network, you might be interested to learn that apparently the carrier could be adding Apple's iPhone to their lineup come Q3. This intel is courtesy of the folks @evleaks who have been pretty accurate in their leaks and speculations in the past, so it could be true for all we know.

YouTube Partners With MLB To Offer Archived Games And Season Highlights

You can't really go wrong with Major League Baseball and YouTube, two things that most Americans adore. Both of them have now increased their partnership that began back in 2005, MLB was YouTube's first sports partner, to offer highlights from every game in 2013 just two days after they've been played and an archive of full games. The archive consists of videos of full games dating back to 1952. YouTube has been upping its game recently, only last week it announced that it is going to hold a comedy week on the website which will feature some big name stars doing comedy routines.

Playful otter makes bid for world's cutest hitchhiker

Playful otter makes bid for world's cutest hitchhiker

While the beaver has lately made headlines for attacking people, the otter seen in this video from YouTuber iSparra stays on the playful side as it romps around the inside of a vehicle uninvited. Or rather, it stayed on the playful side since, full disclosure, this video is old – but for some reason it's just floated to the top of the Internet's consciousness right now, having just gone viral. And where else are you going to be able to read the comment, "Grand Theft. otto," right.
The setup: Tourists in the wilds of Borneo returned to their SUV and the otter jumped in when they opened the doors. Then he wouldn't get out.

San Francisco Cops Go Undercover To Prevent iPhone Thefts

San Francisco Cops Go Undercover To Prevent iPhone Thefts

Statistics show that the percentage of iPhone ownership in San Francisco is very, very close to the ratio of 1:2, which clearly places it at the highest rate of any major city in the US. This does not come across as a surprise considering how the city's population has a soft spot towards Apple, and not only that, it would naturally mean that the percentage of iPhone theft in this city would be the highest among all major cities, too.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years (video)

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 review

Normally, when a company releases two laptops in different sizes (the MacBook Air, anyone?) we review just one: we assume you'll get the gist about the design and trackpad the first time, ya know. So it's funny, then, that we're taking a look at the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 after we've already tested the Yoga 13 and named it one of our favorite Windows 8 convertibles. They look alike, with an inventive hinge allowing you to fold the screen back like a book cover. The keyboards are the same too, though the 11-incher's is understandably a tad more crowded. They even have the same oddly shaped power port.

Auris Bluetooth Receiver Breathes New Life Into Your 30-pink Dock Connector Speakers

When Apple introduced the Lightning connector, it probably upset many older iPhone users who might have a ton of accessories, such as speaker docks, which relied on the 30-pin dock connector. Sure there is the adapter but it's a clunky solution, not to mention due to the way some speaker docks are designed, the adapter might not fit. In any case if you own a 30-pink speaker dock that you'd like to use again with your new iPhone 5, the Auris Bluetooth receiver might be the answer you've been looking for.

Late last month, we covered some bit on the HP Slate 7, touting that it has been delayed to June on the quiet, while earlier this month, it was reported that the HP Slate 7 would be made available for pre-order for folks living in Europe. Well, it seems that it was a website error which resulted in the HP Slate 7's launch date to be pushed back to June, as HP has just made it official that their spanking new Android-powered tablet is available for purchase. In fact, HP has already listed the HP Slate 7 in its online shop, where it was accompanied by a $169.99 price tag.

Google updates policies to prevent developers auto-updating apps outside of Play Store

. You could be forgiven to have thought that Facebook and Google had put aside their rivalries and become BFFs after the launch of Facebook Home and the HTC First. However, it didn't take long for one side to strike the other, with Google making the move to update the Play Store policy and ban developers from bypassing the official update mechanism.
Facebook opened a can of worms when they added a feature in one of their latest releases that allowed them to auto-update their app on certain users' devices for beta testing purposes.

Julie's Gadget Diary - 2nd look at Qi wireless charging

Julie's Gadget Diary - 2nd look at Qi wireless charging

A few weeks ago I published a gadget diary post sharing my experiences with trying to get Qi wireless charging working with my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3. Long story short, I ordered a wireless charging patch (receiver) and a Nokia DT-900 Wireless Charging pad and it didn't work. One of our frequent readers (Haesslich) left a comment suggesting that the Nokia DT-910 Wireless Charging Stand might be a better choice… I took that advice, sent the DT-900 back to Amazon and ordered a DT-910. I've had a lot better luck with that one except for a couple new problems….

Washington poised to nearly double its hybrid fleet

Washington poised to nearly double its hybrid fleet

The Detroit News reports The General Services Administration is set to increase the number of hybrid vehicles in the government's fleet by 10,000. Doing so is estimated to save one million gallons of fuel per year through the lives of the machines. Currently, the GSA fleet boasts around 10,672 hybrids, and last fiscal year saw the agency purchase 919 of the vehicles. The GSA helps support other agencies, and in this case, it will cover the extra cost of opting for hybrid models over a standard internal combustion vehicle for any other agency that wishes to take part in the program.

There's a surprisingly long and storied history of automakers creating suicide-themed advertisements. You'd think the companies and their marketing firms would have figured out by now that such ads always result in a swirl of backlash – see examples from Audi, Citroën, General Motors and Volkswagen, all pasted down below, as proof. It seems somebody at Hyundai didn't get the message that many people don't find suicide a laughing matter. A video making the rounds on the web that was, according to Hyundai, produced in the UK, depicts a man trying to commit suicide by pumping exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment of his car.

While it goes without saying that companies ought to do their bit to ensure that they have a decent flagship device to keep in the smartphone race, it would also make perfect sense to achieve a balance in their product portfolio by rolling out devices that will also cater to different segments of society, and the middle class would be a good place to start. Word on the street earlier in the month has it that Oppo is working on a smartphone that is known as the Oppo R809T, where it measures 6..93mm thin, but that mark will still be far off from the 6.65mm of the Oppo Finder which was released sometime last year.

We've covered the whole Boeing 787 Dreamliner saga here. The jet was grounded earlier this year after its faulty battery system caused emergency landing of one flight and filling up of smoke in another. Since then Boeing has developed a new battery system, it has conducted flight certification tests, and only last week the FAA cleared its new battery system which will now be installed on Dreamliner planes that are sitting in hangars across the world. Flights have not resumed as of now, but are expected to in the near future.

Nokia Wins Preliminary Injunction Against HTC In The Netherlands

Nokia Wins Preliminary Injunction Against HTC In The Netherlands

In the Netherlands, a court granted Nokia a preliminary injunction against HTC concerning technology surrounding the microphone used in smartphones. Of course, this is not quite near patent territory just yet, but it certainly sees Nokia deal another blow to HTC. The technology involved here would be the same one that is used by HTC in its flagship device, namely, the well promoted HTC One. HTC claimed that the HTC One will come with high-amplitude microphones, but it so happens that this is also the very same dual-membrane technology which Nokia uses in their Lumia range of smartphones that run on the Windows Phone operating system.

It was last year at Google I/O we saw the action packed debut of Google Glass back when the device was still very much in its infancy. Little more than fancy head mounted camera chock full of potential, developers were only allowed to sign up for early access to the hardware — if they could afford the hefty $1,500 price tag that is. Since then, we've been seeing Google making a strong effort to create buzz for Glass, throwing promotional contests like “If I Had Glass,” even giving headsets away to celebrities and a few everyday developers.

Things are finally on track for HTC One. The latest Android flagship of this Taiwanese manufacturer was hit with production issues in the start which caused launch delays. Now that those setbacks have been done with, and the HTC One is on track for what seems to be a successful launch, the company hasn't forgotten about the developers that have been anxiously waiting for the code. To an average user the kernel source code is obviously of no use, but there's no doubt that developers will now be overjoyed.
