2014 Maserati Ghibli snarls in Shanghai

Big things are happening at Maserati, where the automaker is looking to increase its sales to 50,000 units annually. In addition to the revised Quattroporte that we saw at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, Maserati has launched the all-new Ghibli here in Shanghai – a smaller, more driver-focused model that will take on the likes of the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. At launch, the Ghibli will be offered with three six-cylinder engines, two gas and one diesel. The base engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 330 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, good for a 0-62 time of 5.6 seconds.

The HTC One is one of the biggest devices of the year and there's no question HTC has a lot riding on its release. As an underdog in the smartphone race, HTC is going the extra mile with the One, introducing a handful of new innovative hardware features and software. I've been very vocal about my feelings towards the HTC One ever since it was announced, seeing it as sort of a rebirth for the manufacturer. OUYA consoles have started shipping and all backers should have their units by the end of May. The Android console will also be available for purchase starting June 4th, so we know you are getting ready to enjoy all those games. The popular OUYA has no shortage of partnership and developers, but did you know they have now reached the 10,000 partnerships threshold. We were at the launch party last month, where CEO Julie Uhrman mentioned they had about 8,000 partnerships. The company's early success is evident to everyone, so it's not weird to see them adding 2,000 developers to the list.

Introduction. A few weeks ago, Synology contacted us with the question "Have you spotted our latest 2-bay DS713+ and DX513 expansion unit?". Honestly this model seemed to have slipped to capture our attention because we were thinking "Oh, it just has to be the old DS712+ upgraded with USB 3.0 ports...".

Classic SUVs next big thing for car collectors

Hagerty Insurance seems to think vintage SUVs are going to be the next big trend in car collecting. The agency has already seen prices begin to tick upward at auction, with the number of classic SUVs insured by the company growing some 65 percent since 2008. That's about twice the pace of the overall market. All told, Toyota Land Cruisers have seen the largest jump with a swell of 202 percent, though 1970s and 1980s Jeep models are up by a more than respectable 93 percent as well.

We've already seen the upcoming BMW 2 Series testing in both coupe and convertible body styles, and now we're getting our first glimpse inside the new entry-level coupe. Judging by the sportier exterior that we've seen in previous spy shots, this car appears to be equipped with an M-Sport package, so this is likely not what the base interior will look like. Compared to the current 1 Series, this new coupe will have cleaner cabin design including fewer buttons on the center stack and an instrument panel with more of a dual-brow design.

The MyGlass companion app is now live in the Play Store after Google began notifying folks that the first Explorer Edition headsets are currently rolling off the assembly line. The timing of the app, then, is not surprising, as it provides users with both a way to setup their new piece of expensive high-tech gadgetry as well as interface Glass with their Android phone. The app uses the familiar Card UI that has been finding its way to more and more Google apps, a likely sign of things to come in Android Key Lime Pie, but that's for another time. Aside from the app, Google has also launched an online setup page for Glass.
