The sleek, slender smartphone pictured above is absolutely not Apple's next-generation iPhone. It is entirely possible, however, that the iPhone 5 could feature the same design. Images of a fake iPhone 5 were published this past weekend by gizchina.com, and they show a strikingly thin 7mm-thick handset that has all the makings of an Apple design. The device itself is certainly not built of the same high-quality materials or components Apple would use, but as has been noted by several sites that picked up the story, it is possible - perhaps even likely - that the above clone is based on Apple's actual iPhone 5 design.

Japan getting new Panasonic full HD 3D home theater projector this fall

The PT-AE7000U, the first 3D unit in the world to use transparent LCD panels at 480Hz with the Panasonic overdrive tech to reduce cross talk and improve photo quality,  is able to offer "stunning large screen 2D images, as well as an immersive 3D viewing experience for home theater viewers," plus it features three HDMI inputs, projects a 120-inch image from 11-feet away, 200W red-rich lamp, 300,000:1 contrast ratio, 2,000 lumens of brightness. Look for this projector in September when it hits authorized Japanese dealers for about 269,000 Yen (about $3,499).

Motorola Photon 4G Review

The Sprint Motorola Photon 4G just came out, and Motorola presents it as being a “superphone”. Powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core system on a chip, it's easy to understand why Motorola sees it that way. Despite having recent competition from Qualcomm, the chip still dominates many synthetic benchmarks. However, a smartphone is more than raw performance numbers: few people actually buy a smartphone based on that. Fortunately, the Photon 4G has more than just performance. Motorola gave it Webtop, a desktop-like environment that supports a full desktop Firefox browser.

Apple Halts Samsung Galaxy Tab Launch in Australia

Only their mother can tell them apart. Photo: Jon Snyder/Wired.com. As part of the ongoing lawsuit between Samsung and Apple, the launch of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been delayed in Australia. A court injunction has been won by Apple which will prevent Samsung from selling the tablet “until [Samsung] wins court approval or the lawsuit is resolved,” according to a report by Bloomberg.

The lawsuit started in the US in April, and has Apple accusing Samsung of ripping of the iPhone and the iPad in look and feel. The evidence is hard to contradict.

If Rube Goldberg had been a theoretician, he'd have come up with the OneBike. Here's pretty much the weirdest electric bike idea I have ever seen. It's called the OneBike, and it combines an exercise bike and an electric bike into one. If that sounds ass-backward, read on: it gets worse.

It works like this. At home, the bike folds and fits into a base-station, turning it into a stationary bike. You pedal away and the usual monitoring options tell you how your heart and calories are doing.

WriteRoom Takes iPad Text Editor Crown

The waters of the iPad text editor world are so crowded that its easy to miss yet another one slipping from the shore, even it is a big-name app that would normally make a splash. So it is that Hog Bay software's WriteRoom has finally hit the tablet, turning swan-like from a rather pointless iPhone app into a beautifully full-featured (universal) iPad app with almost nobody noticing.

WriteRoom 3.0 is a kind of pro version of PlainText, which was Hog Bay developer Jesse Grosjean's first iPad Text Editor.
