The 2013 Rolex 24-hour race at Daytona comes down to the last hour [spoilers, w/video]

The 2013 Rolex 24-hour race at Daytona comes down to the last hour [spoilers, w/video]

It took 24 hours to run the race, but it was the last one was stuffed with the high action as four cars were still trying to figure out how to gain victory on the track and in the pits. Along with the obligatory crashes, spins, mechanical issues and retirements had come numerous penalties, a double-digit number of full-course yellows and two hours of fog that turned early Sunday morning into a stretch of parade laps. Chip Ganassi's team owned it, the #1 Telmex Riley-BMW taking pole position and the number two spot on the grid and winning the race with Juan Pablo Montoya behind the wheel at the checkered flag.

npw Build Your Own Kaleidoscope Kit review

npw Build Your Own Kaleidoscope Kit review

Some of my favorite childhood toys include a Spirograph set and a kaleidoscope. I'm still fascinated by geometric art and actually ordered a couple modern Spirograph type sets for myself this past Christmas. I always thought it would be really cool to make my own kaleidoscope, so when I was asked by the UK based online shop Not On The High Street to feature them with a review of one of their products, I choose the Build Your Own Kaleidoscope Kit. .

Research In Motion Prepares for Super Bowl Ad

Research In Motion Prepares for Super Bowl Ad

When it comes to reaching out to the audience, nothing else is as massive and extensive as putting up an advertisement during the Super Bowl. Research In Motion knows this all too well, so they are banking on a big-budgeted Super Bowl spot on February 3rd to promote its BlackBerry 10 software, along with its much-anticipated smartphones that run in it. It costs $4 million to secure a 30-second spot on this year's Super Bowl, not to mention the budget needed to produce the commercial.

Thin is in with the Flatlight flashlight

Thin is in with the Flatlight flashlight

Bucking traditions in the flashlight form factor, Flatlight, a Kickstarter project by Tater Tot Designs, brings in the thin. The Flatlight is 3.57″ X 1.99″ X 0.11″, giving it a credit card-like profile. An array of LED transmits light to a fiber optic backlight that evenly distributes the light through the lens. Although I don't think the Flatlight will replace your main flashlight for heavy-duty lighting needs, it does look like it would be a great lightweight addition to a purse, camera bag, or even gear bag for limited low light use.
