Fiat and PSA predicted to be Europe's biggest losers in 2013

Fiat and PSA predicted to be Europe's biggest losers in 2013

Industry observers are expecting Europe's new vehicle sales to fall to lows not seen in decades, with Fiat and PSA/Peugeot-Citroën sitting in the lead car of the plummeting coaster. Both of those automakers traditionally count on the southern part of the continent for sales, yet consumers in that region have slowed spending due to the financial crisis. Compounding the problem for Fiat is a lack of new product, as CEO Sergio Marchionne has stalled development to conserve cash during the downturn. PSA has invested in new vehicles, but aggressive price wars have forced it to sell its product with steep discounts.

Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape

Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape

Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures and the Compass and Patriot are entering their final model year, it's time to start looking into the future of Jeep. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the midsize SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name. From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting.

iPad Mini 2 With Retina Display, Cheaper iPhone, iPhone 5S Are All Coming This Year, Says Analyst

It was just last week when we wrote to you about an iPad mini 2 and an iPad 5 in the works. The source of the rumor was Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White who believes that Apple is planning to launch two new devices per year. Interestingly, former Apple CEO John Sculley also hinted yesterday that Apple might be speeding up its product launch cycle to two per year. Today, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is saying that Apple might indeed update most of its iDevices this year.
