In the future, Star Wars coins can be used to purchase not an X-Wing, but rather, a drink at the bar, or anything in our world. Yes sir, Star War coins will be minted in the near future, where they will end up as legal tender on Niue, a tiny South Pacific island nation. While they are legal tender, I don't think anyone would be willing to use those over something as trifle as drinks – after all, they are made out of pure silver and come packaged in special cases which will hold a quartet of coins, while others are made of silver-plated base metal and sold in blister packs.
