Hanebrink X5 – Electricity at 80MPH

Speed and distance are the two factors that are going to make or break electric motorcycles.  Hanebrink has just announced their X5, which is capable of speeds up to 80 MPH  (128 KMH ).  Aimed at the sports bike enthusiast rather than the commuter, it's powered by 4 Li-Ion cells with a 14 gear transmission.  It will include some premium components, like Brembo brakes and inverted coil hydraulic forks.

Doxie One portable scanner rolls in for $149, plays well alone and syncs with Mac, PC and iOS

Doxie has added another portable scanner to its heart-logo'd lineup, the Doxie One, which can digitize documents and images to an included SD-card with nary a computer in sight. Doxie says that'll let you travel light with the "paper-towel roll sized" device to scan and automatically generate Abbyy OCR-read PDFs, then sync up later with a Mac, PC, iPhone or iPad. From there, you can use the included app on a Mac or iDevice to transfer the scans to Dropbox, Evernote or iMessage.

3 million Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sold in little over a month

We're sure that many thought that the original Galaxy Note was a novelty device when it first launched. After all the device seemed a little too big for a handset, but yet too small for a tablet, leading many to dub it a "phablet". As it turns out the Galaxy Note held its own, leading competitors like LG to come up with their own phablet, the Optimus Vu. Well Samsung recently launched the Note's successor, the Galaxy Note 2 and if you think that phablets are still novelties, perhaps some sales figures might change your mind.

We're sure that there are many of you guys out there who love to check into locations via Facebook - I know because I am one of them. Well the good news is that Facebook is looking to capitalize on those check-ins, and we say good news because not only will this benefit Facebook, but it will benefit users as these check-ins will be "exchanged" for free WiFi. According to reports, it seems that Facebook is currently trialing some sort of pilot program in which they provide some businesses with "Facebook routers" which provide free WiFi hotspots to customers.

Call it an unfortunate side effect of growing up in the information age, but it takes some truly impressive technology to surprise us anymore. So when we say the ViewCam 360 has set our cynical hearts aglow, we want you to understand the full scope of our meaning. The tech captures complete 360-degree footage around a center point, which can then be played back and viewed through a unique flash player. Users can control the camera angle to look left, right, up or down while the video is streaming.
