Facial and smile detection in cameras is definitely not a new feature, but it looks like that feature could be making its way to iOS devices in the iOS 7 update according to APIs discovered in the latest release of iOS 7 beta 2 which recently made its way into the hands of developers. According to the folks at 9to5 Mac, these new APIs allow for the detection of expressions made on the faces of subjects, such as smiling and blinking, a feature like we said earlier is not new to the dedicated camera world.
