Samsung Galaxy S II finally lands in the States, Verizon not in the party

It's been a long, long time coming but the follow-on to Samsung's extremely successful Galaxy S smartphone has finally been introduced to the United States. Kind of ironic isn't it that Apple didn't manage to stop them. The Samsung Galaxy S2 was announced way back in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. A few months later, in May, the phone started hitting store shelves around the world. The phone hit Canada in July and is available in over 100 countries. However, the U.S. is not one of those countries. Not yet, at least.

Last night, at an event in New York City, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S2 in the States.

Google's Schmidt: Motorola buy is about ‘more than just patents'

Google Executive Chairman and former CEO Eric Schmidt on Thursday reiterated that the company's proposed $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility is about more than just patents. When Google announced the deal, CEO Larry Page said in a statement, ”Motorola Mobility's total commitment to Android has created a natural fit for our two companies. Together, we will create amazing user experiences that supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners and developers.

Sony announces #CatchTheTablet campaign

If you've seen Sony's Tablet S and have fallen in love with it - we've got some good news for you. Sony has just announced the launch of its #CatchTheTablet which will give users a chance to win one of the tablets for themselves. LG PZ850T Pentouch 3D TV lets you draw on it

When's the last time you used a pen to draw on your TV screen. If the answer is never, don't worry, you're not alone. However, LG's upcoming offering, the PZ850T Pentouch 3D TV aims to change things. The internet-connected 3D TV will feature Pentouch technology that will allow users to write and draw directly using a stylus (provided) on the TV screen. The PZ850T will come with apps such as Sketch book, Photo editor and Family diary to make full use of its input capabilities.

The TV will come in 50" and 60" models, and it also capable of converting 2D into 3D content that's viewable with the provided active shutter 3D glasses.

HTC presented the Radar

HTC has just presented us with the new HTC Radar, the new model features a premium design, crafted for just one piece of metal. This new model will come equipped with a 1Ghz processor, running on Windows Phone OS 7.5, it has a internal space of 8Gb and 512Mb of RAM and a 3.8-inch capable of 480*800 resolution. The Camera is a 5 megapixel powered by a BSI sensor (improves low light pictures) and a lens with F/2.2 stop.

HTC Titan, HTC Radar price and release date revealed by Amazon UK

Earlier this morning we revealed that MobileFun would be selling the HTC titan for £509, now we've learned that Amazon UK has unveiled their pricing and release date for the HTC Titan and HTC Radar.  The price of the HTC Titan on Amazon is set at £529 while the HTC Radar comes in at a more reasonable £349.99.  The release date for both the HTC Titan and HTC Radar is set for October 15th.  We're not sure when UK's service providers plan on selling the two phones, but we expect you should be able to pick up the Titan or Radar for free if you sign a new two year contract with qualifying data plan.

Samsung Epic 4G Touch is the only Galaxy S II with an LED notification light

Remember the classic clamshell Motorola phones that came with an LED notification light out in front, letting you know just which caller group has called or text messaged you with but a glance, simply because the LED light will appear in a different color. Well, Samsung takes a page out of Motorola book with their Epic Touch 4G, which is the only model from the Galaxy S II range in the US that will have an LED notification light.

HTC has finally unveiled the long rumored Windows Phone 7 Mango-based Eternity and Omega. The 4.7-inch Eternity's official name is Titan, while the smaller 3.8-inch Omega is now called Radar. Both devices have leaked numerous times before and we already knew almost everything about them.

Sony's Tablet S now up for pre-order in the UK, priced from £399.99

Sony's Android-powered Tablet S is going to be available pretty soon. Sony finally decided to officially acknowledge its existence yesterday when it announced that the tablet would be available in September. However, in the UK at least, it's coming a bit sooner than we expected. Dixons has claimed it has an exclusive two-week pre-order window (whatever that means) for Sony's tablet in the UK, and the retailer has therefore (obviously) started taking pre-orders for the device. There are three versions offered at the moment.

The cheapest is a 16 GB Wi-Fi-only option, which can be had for £399.99.

Unfortunately few of us ever get to see them, remote as they often are from our locales and generally not open to the public. That's where Megafactories comes in. Lenovo Multimedia Remote Upgraded

The new Lenovo Multimedia Remote Keyboard (N5902). Over a year ago we cut the cable/dish around here and began using Home Theater PCs, and various extenders and it has worked out much better than I had hoped. My wife and two sons have been delighted with the selection of content available and we're saving almost $125/month by not having DirecTV.
All went smoothly in the transition, building the HTPCs was easy, putting the Rokus, Popcorn Hour , Microsoft XBox360 and Thecus NAS on the network wasn't a problem either. The only real issue we had was finding the right remote keyboard.

Just as we expected, HTC has unveiled their new Windows Phone 9 Mango lineup.  The HTC Titan and HTC Radar (previously known as the HTC Eternity and HTC Omega) will be the first phones from HTC to launch with Windows Phone 7.5.
