Google Rumored To Be Opening Their Own Retail Stores This Year

Google Rumored To Be Opening Their Own Retail Stores This Year

According to an "extremely reliable source" from 9to5 Google, they claim that Google will be launching their own retail stores across metropolitan areas in the United States ahead of the holidays this year. Unsurprisingly the source claims that these stores will be used to show off Google's own brand of products, such as the Nexus lineup of Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Chromebooks running Google's Chrome OS. Google has yet to comment on these rumors, but considering that they already have their own online store, we wouldn't be surprised if they decided that going brick-and-mortar would be the next thing to do.

Analyst: Nokia Tablet Won't Debut At MWC 2013

Analyst: Nokia Tablet Won't Debut At MWC 2013

A few days ago, we saw a possible leak of a new Nokia tablet at an event the company held in Pakistan which we expected would be revealed at MWC, if such a device even exists. According to market research firm Strategy Anallytics, we could be wrong in thinking MWC would be the place for Nokia to debut their tablet. In a blog post published earlier today, Strategy Analytics believes Nokia will only focus on its line of Lumia smartphones at this year's MWC as channel checks made by its Tablet & Touchscreen Strategies service believes Nokia's strategy at the show will be “smartphone first.”.

California HOV access could be extended 10 years for green cars

California HOV access could be extended 10 years for green cars

A few years ago it was not uncommon to hear a Toyota Prius buyer say, "I got it for the sticker." The yellow sticker they were referring to allowed the driver to use the High Occupancy Vehicle (carpool) lane even when alone in the car which, as every other LA driver knows, led to the frequent sight of a Prius with a sole occupant zooming by at 94 miles per hour along the center barrier. That dispensation for traditional hybrids ended in 2011, but there are both white and green stickers that remain good for sole-occupant HOV use until 2015.

Tamagotchi, the Japanese virtual pet you have raised and fed during the 1990's, turns 16. In celebration of the toy's coming-of-age, Namco Bandai has launched a new mobile app based on the original digital pet. Titled “Tamagotchi L.i.f.e.” (short for “Love Is Fun Everywhere”), the app simulates your experience with the egg-shaped toy, from feeding your pet to cleaning their pixelated poop. It also comes with more features. For one, the app and your pet come alive in color and in higher resolution.

New PlayStation 4 Controller Leaked?

New PlayStation 4 Controller Leaked?

Game site Destructoid has stumbled upon a photo of what looks like a never-seen before PlayStation controller. Obviously, the first question that comes to mind is : is that the PlayStation 4 controller. First of all, let's take a look: the biggest change is in the middle, and there seems to be a glossy surface that could be a touch display or a display of some sort. Secondly the little holes in the middle do look like a microphone – possibly for voice commands. Or it may just be a weird speaker.

Olympus Denies Reports That They Are Discontinuing Their DSLR Products

When it comes to DSLR cameras, big brand names such as Canon or Nikon are typically mentioned, but let's not forget that there are alternatives out there. Companies such as Pentax, Olympus and Fujifilm have been known to put out pretty decent DSLR cameras, but it seems that a recent report has gotten customers worried that Olympus could be ceasing the production of their DSLR offerings. This report has since been refuted in an official statement released by the company. Olympus also states that they will continue offering DSLR cameras alongside their mirrorless camera range, the PEN series.

Wayki Alarm Clock Toothbrush

Wayki Alarm Clock Toothbrush

Getting up in the morning for some people may be quite hard. This also goes with brushing teeth in the morning. Gadgets like the new Wayki Alarm Clock Toothbrush aim to help people with both. The unique Wayki Alarm Clock Toothbrush is a unique combination of an alarm clock and a toothbrush. The concept is for the device to work with two parts separated. The handle or base acts as an alarm clock while the brush tip is separated from it and stored conveniently in the bathroom.

The way it works, the Wayki acts as an alarm clock to rouse a sleepyhead to get up.

Xbox Early Engineer: Apple Could “Easily Kill” Wii-U, Xbox, PlayStation

Nat Brown, a former Microsoft Engineer and a member of the early Xbox team, has published a personal blog post about how the past five years of Xbox were “painful” to watch, especially when it comes to the failure of turning Kinect into something bigger than what it is today. His article has a particularly harsh title: ” Stupid, Stupid xBox!!” — I recommend reading it in full, but here are a few things that I found of particular interest:.

Amazon has announced an extension of the content licensing deal that it previously had with CBS. As a result, more shows are being added for Amazon Prime Instant subscribers to watch. New titles include Undercover Boss, Star Trek, Everybody Loves Raymond, America's Next Top Model, The L Word  and United States of Tara – in no particular order. This comes in a context where video streaming behemoths like Netflix and Amazon are pouring money to either buy content licenses, or create their own shows. This is their way to attempt breaking the lock that cable companies have on that kind of content.

Lincoln dealers frustrated over slow MKZ production ramp-up

Lincoln dealers frustrated over slow MKZ production ramp-up

Lincoln has clearly been working hard to get the word out about its 2013 MKZ sedan. The Dearborn automaker has taken out lavish spreads to trumpet its boldly styled new model in magazines of every description, along with placing commercials for both the vehicle and the reborn brand behind it on all manner of television programs, including the super-costly Super Bowl earlier this month. Pity, then, that Lincoln dealers don't have enough MKZs to sell.

Google has not provided public details about the update, and we've been getting mixed signals from the industry.

iPhone 5 Ranked Fifth In Customer Satisfaction Poll Behind Android Phones

For several years, Apple's devices have been ranked high in numerous customer satisfaction polls, but it looks as though their customer satisfaction dominance has slipped a bit with the iPhone 5. According to a study carried out by mobile research firm OnDevice Research, 320,000 mobile and tablet users across six different countries were polled how satisfied they were with their devices. In the U.S., Apple's iPhone 5 ranked fifth place (8.23) in customer satisfaction behind four Android devices: the Motorola Atrix HD (8.57), Motorola Droid Razr M (8.5), HTC Rezound 4G (8.32) and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (8.26).
