Nissan NV200 Mobility Taxi adds a dose of accessibility to the new-look cab

Nissan NV200 Mobility Taxi adds a dose of accessibility to the new-look cab

Nissan has been making hay with its NV200 light commercial vehicle in New York. We've known since last year that the van will see service as a taxi in the Big Apple, and more recently, we learned that a variant will be kicking around to rescue ailing Gibson guitars. At its press conference this year, Nissan continued the onslaught with a wheelchair-accessible version of its NV200 Taxi. The automaker has teamed with BraunAbility – a company that styles itself as the world's largest maker of wheelchair-accessible vans – to create this NV200 Mobility Taxi.

2014 Mitsubishi Mirage arrives in US this fall

2014 Mitsubishi Mirage arrives in US this fall

Mitsubishi dealers have been painfully starved of fresh product for ages now, with their most recent new model, the bubble-shaped i electric car, already requiring a serious sales jumpstart. We've known for a while that help is on the way in the form of an all-new Outlander crossover, but we've basically only had loose confirmations to go on that the Japanese automaker would eventually reintroduce its Mirage subcompact to the American market. Today, those rumors have turned to reality, as Mitsubishi has confirmed that the five-door economy car will hit US dealerships this fall.

The Vamp Adds Bluetooth Connectivity To Most Speakers

The Vamp Adds Bluetooth Connectivity To Most Speakers

The Vamp is not a new band who takes after the likes of vampires, and neither is it a new TV miniseries that deal with the average life of a lovelorn vampire who is seeking meaning in this existentialist life. No sir, The Vamp is actually a Kickstarter project that when realized, will be able to help you transform an existing aged, and yet quality speaker into one that has Bluetooth connectivity in order to keep up with the times. Basically, The Vamp, despite its diminutive size, can be attached to most speakers, providing it with Bluetooth connectivity along the way.

Sony Has New Xperia A Planned For The Summer

Sony Has New Xperia A Planned For The Summer

Just what are some of the plans you have lined up for this coming summer, other than the fact that you intend to take a really nice break away on a tropical island somewhere. Surely going through the list of blockbuster movies is something to look forward to, but if you were a consumer electronics company, what is on your agenda. Sony intends to roll out more smartphones for the masses, where the Sony Xperia A is definitely one of them, carrying the codename Dogo.

Fuel may be the world's tiniest phone backup battery

Fuel may be the world's tiniest phone backup battery

The Fuel backup power source is a Kickstarter project from Devotec Industries, a maker of backup batteries and Bluetooth speakers.  (Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot of companies are looking to expand their product lines through crowd-funding projects lately?)  The Fuel is a 220mAh emergency power source for any phone that is charged with a microUSB cable.  It looks like a tiny fuel can (1″ X 1″ X 0.5″), and it's small enough to keep it on your keychain.  The body is made of aluminum, and the little “spout cover” is actually a male microUSB connector that plugs into the phone for charging.

FAA Might Remove Reading Device Restriction For Passengers Later This Year

FAA Might Remove Reading Device Restriction For Passengers Later This Year

As it currently stands, passengers on commercial flights are required to shut down their electronic devices before takeoff and landing. The airlines say that these devices may cause interference with the avionics of the aircraft. There's no concrete proof of that actually happening, which is primarily the reason why this restriction is criticized a lot. If all goes on well, the FAA may remove this restriction altogether by the end of this year. Do note that the restriction would still apply on cellphones.
