IdeaPad YOGA Multi-Mode Notebook: Four Usage Modes!

You want a notebook, you also want a tablet, but you don't have the budget for both devices, only one device you can effort. A high-end tablet such iPad or Galaxy Tab could set you back around $500, a stylish and powerful ultrabook such as Samsung Series 5 would cost $900 at minimum. If you want all of them, you need to have $1,400. If you don't have such amount of money, how to solve the problem. Lenovo has the answer: the $1200 IdeaPad YOGA. I know it's not the right answer for everyone, but let's see what it can do.

ZunZun Computer Laptop Sun Visor Review

ZunZun is a Dutch company that has a great idea.  They make sun visor shades for computer laptops 10.5″ and 15.6″ and even GPS units. These shades are essentially flexible hoods that attach via elastic bands around your computer to shade the screen so you can see it and still type on your keyboard.  For the record, I like the idea of this product.  .
I celebrate this idea.  I love writing outdoors.  I hate being cooped up and lately, my living situation being what it is, I am more prone to cabin fever than ever.

US military ready to deploy secure Android smartphones

The US government is ready to start handing out Android smartphones to high-ranking officials and soldiers stationed throughout the world, according to new reports. We've heard plenty of chatter over the past year or so about the government's interest in deploying devices running Google's mobile OS for military use, and, the powers that be have signed off on our favorite green robot's enlistment forms. The decision came after Google's biggest mobile competitor, Apple, denied government officials access to iOS source code.

ComScore on US Smartphone Market Share: Despite Late iPhone 4S Surge, Android Closes Out Q4 Ahead of All

Comscore have released their Q4 2011 numbers for smartphone market share in the United States. Earlier reports suggested Apple would take a great chunk of the share back from Android with the launch of the iPhone 4S, and while they did have a great spurt to close the year out it didn't hurt Android as much as some might have thought it would. They found that Android still grew 2.5% more over the previous quarter at 47.3% vs 44.8%. Apple, on the other hand, grew 2.2% more over the previous quarter with 29.6% vs 27.4%. Everyone else is on the decline, a trend that has held true for quite some time now.

French court fines Google France 500,000 euros for gratis Maps

A Parisian commercial court has upheld a lower court's ruling against Google France, ordering the company to pay a fine of €500,000 for giving away its maps services. The plaintiff, Bottin Cartographes, claims that Google leveraged the market share of its Maps platform — and the fact that it's free — to undercut and stifle competition attempting to sell their topographical wares to businesses. “We proved the illegality of [Google's] strategy,” said Bottin's counsel, noting that this was the first time Google has been convicted of malfeasance for this particular piece of software in the country.

Google has had its fair share of malware-related problems in the Android Market, but that's hopefully about to change, now that the company has announced a new security-enhancing service. Codenamed “Bouncer,” Mountain View's new program sounds pretty simple, in principle: it just automatically scans the Market for malware, without altering the Android user experience, or requiring devs to run through an app approval process.

Razer Orochi gaming mouse has a bubbly personality

Before you think that somehow, we have traveled back in time to talk about the $79.99 Razer Orochi gaming mouse, look closer. What you see above is actually a bar of soap that was modeled to look just like the gaming mouse itself, although there is no lighted up scroll wheel that gives the game away. Originally carved as a custom contest item for Razer, and limited to a one-time run of 50 units, you can now pick up this 4.5 ounce “mouse” for $10 a pop, and it has a serpentine fragrance name as well to go with the overall theme from Razer – where the creator has called it “dragon's blood” fragrance.

As if piloting one of the fastest F1 cars on the grid weren't enough, Ferrari has gifted each of its gifted drivers his own 458 Italia, Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari and Maserati GranCabrio, to name just a few. And something tells us that if either Fernando Alonso or Felipe Massa wanted anything else from the expansive Fiat-Chrysler product range – say, a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, for example – that would hardly pose a problem.
