What we expect to see from next week's E3 2013

What we expect to see from next week's E3 2013

Another year of the world famous Electronics Entertainment Expo — better known as E3 — is kicking off next week in LA. There, gaming big wigs from all around the world are gathering to show off their latest wares and yours truly will be in attendance, scouring the showroom floor in search of anything Android related. As an Android fanatic first, and “gamer” second, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jazzed at the prospect of playing the latest from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo's next-gen offerings.

HTC's 5.9 inch One Max (T6) could look like this

The rumored 5.9 inch HTC T6 phablet may be called HTC One Max when it hits shelves later this year. Such a name certainly makes sense, since we're also going to have an HTC One Mini. It also makes sense if the T6 / One Max looks like just like a bigger HTC One. And, according to Dutch website MobiLeaks, it does.
The website has a sketch of the One Max, implying that it's going to be 140.4mm tall, and 9.4mm thin. This would make it only slightly larger than the regular One, which measures 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm.

2015 Subaru WRX caught testing in US on Mulholland

2015 Subaru WRX caught testing in US on Mulholland

In April, we got our first glimpse at the 2015 2015 Subaru WRX – the car was caught in STI form in photos and in motion running around Germany's infamous Nürburgring. That's all well and good, but obviously Subaru will sell a good number of the hotter Impreza models here in the United States, and thus, it's nice to now see a video of the next WRX testing out in California, albeit in what looks to be non-STI form. Originally posted on the Subaru Owners Club website, this video comes from YouTube user 31200MulhollandHwy.

Nokia Lumia 928 Review

Nokia Lumia 928 Review

It was back in September 2012 when Nokia announced its newest flagship smartphone, the Lumia 920, which ran on the Windows Phone 8 OS and featured a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 768 x 1280 and a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. Several months later, Nokia announced a slightly upgraded version of the Lumia 920, the Lumia 928, which had many of the original device's internal specs, but was lighter, features a Xenon flash and doesn't come in as many colors as the Lumia 920. The Lumia 928 is also available on Verizon Wireless, while the Lumia 920 is currently only available on AT&T.

Can Google Play Music All Access compete with Apple's iRadio?

Monday is Apple's yearly WWDC show, and with news that Sony Music has inked a deal with the company behind iTunes, one of the big reveals is expected to be a new streaming music service. Dubbed iRadio by media and fans, the platform, which has been the topic of rumor and speculation for quite some time now, will enter a market full of competition, including Pandora, Spotify, and Google's recently unveiled Play Music All Access. It's a rare instance that Google actually beat Apple to the punch with a media service.

Apple Reportedly Signs Deal With Sony For iRadio Ahead Of WWDC

We've been hearing some rumors regarding Apple's iRadio service for the past couple of days, and it looks like they're on track to make their major announcement at next week's WWDC now that Sony Music has reportedly signed on to the service. The report of Sony Music signing on to Apple's iRadio service is coming from AllThingsD, who is sourcing a person familiar with negotiations between the two companies. As a result, Apple has reportedly signed agreements with all three major music labels, which means we may hear an official announcement during next week's WWDC, although we don't expect iRadio to actually launch during the show.

Stock Miata beats bunch of high-powered cars in wet 1x4-mile drag race

When is a stock, 167-horsepower Mazda MX-5 Miata quicker than a Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lotus Elise and a Porsche 911. When it's raining. Sort of. Mazda Canada arranged a unique drag race to show off the fact that the Miata's optional power retractable folding hardtop can go from top-down to top-up in just 12 seconds flat. In this video, all six cars line up for a drag race, and it starts to rain (well, sort of – but you'll have to watch the video all the way to the end to see what we mean). The green flag is waved, and the timer starts as soon as the convertibles begin to put their tops up.

Samsung Galaxy S III with LTE support finally gets released by T-Mobile

After having been rumored for more than five months, the LTE-enabled version of the Samsung Galaxy S III is now finally available for purchase over at T-Mobile. The magenta carrier is selling this device because it's recently decided to invest in LTE like its competitors, instead of resorting to perpetually calling HSPA+ “4G”. The Galaxy S III that T-Mobile released last year did not have LTE connectivity built-in, because at the time the carrier didn't need it, hence the necessity for a new launch.

Alleged BlackBerry Z5 Leaked

Alleged BlackBerry Z5 Leaked

There has been whispers that BlackBerry is going to roll out half a dozen models later this year, so those of you who are BlackBerry fans should find this bit of news to be encouraging if you are thinking of changing your BlackBerry device to a newer model. Sure, the all-touch BlackBerry Z10 has already rolled out, and so too, is the QWERTY enabled BlackBerry Q10, but it seems that BlackBerry could very well be working on a new model that targets emerging markets by dumbing down the Z10, hence calling it the BlackBerry Z5.

NHTSA may greatly expand GM airbag recall

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pondering whether to dramatically upscale a pair of airbag recalls on General Motors vehicles. The two existing campaigns, one launched in the fall of 2012 and the other in January of this year covered just 6,845 vehicles, but the government agency is considering whether to boost the recall to around 400,000 units. The existing recalls involve the the closely related 2012 Buick Verano (shown) and Chevrolet Cruze sedans, along with Sonic and Camaro models.

European ISPs Might Be Prevented From Throttling Traffic Soon

The European Commission's vice president and digital chief Neelie Kroes is currently working on a campaign which might very well alter the way Europeans hook up to the Internet. It is said that there is approximately 100 million people living in Europe who face connectivity restrictions, where among them include throttled Internet speeds and blocked content, all from their service providers. The Netherlands and Slovenia are right now the only two countries in Europe which offer net neutrality laws so that ISPs would not be able to block competing services.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Review

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Review

Since we were the first media to have the Galaxy Mega 6.3 in hand, it's time to come back for a complete review of this device. As you may know, it is a huge 6.3" device that has been built to provide a “tablet experience”, while still remaining a smartphone. This is not an easy goal, and others like the Huawei Mate have tried before (and kind of flopped). This is a new smartphone category and just like the Note before it, the Galaxy Mega faces many questions, has some staunch critics, but also some die-hard admirers.

HTC One Mini (M4) spotted in lives photos

HTC One Mini (M4) spotted in lives photos

Now that Samsung announced its Galaxy S4 Mini (it happened last week), HTC is seemingly almost ready to unveil a mini version of its One flagship, too. Codenamed HTC M4, the upcoming handset simply looks like a smaller One, and Estonian website Forte has a set of photos to prove that. These are live photos, unlike the M4 renders we've seen in early May.
The mini One has the same aluminum construction as its bigger brother. But since it's smaller, its display is only a 4.3 inch HD (1280 x 720) one. Other features reportedly include Android 4.2.2.
