Bing Image Search Quality Nudges Google's

Searching for Albert of Monaco on Bing. The Bing Search team has published a new blog post in which they present their latest results in Image Search quality. Typically, searching image is extremely different form searching text since the computers have much less data to go on, without going into potentially expensive image analysis. It is clear that a lot of people are searching for images of celebrities, friends or just looking people up. With that in mind, the Bing team has set up to improve its image search and believe that it is noticeably better than Google's.

Pucs Beverage Stones Keeps Your Drinks Cold Without Watering Them Down

Pucs Beverage Stones Keeps Your Drinks Cold Without Watering Them Down

If you're the kind of person who enjoys having a nice, cool beverage, but hate the nonsense you have to go through with ice as not only do you have to remember to prepare them, but also their ability to water down your drink, then you may be interested in Pucs. Pucs are weighted stainless steel stones designed to cool down your beverages. Pucs will cool down your beverages, just like ice, although they won't water down your drinks nor will they affect the flavor of your beverage.

The Bit mini Bluetooth headset from Marware offers hands-free convenience in a teensy weensy package

. Although I've tried quite a few Bluetooth headsets, I've never really been a big fan of them. Don't get me wrong, I think they are really useful, especially while driving, but most of them make you look like you're part of the Borg collective. The Bit from Marware is really small, so if someone does happen to see you wearing one, they might not think you're a total dork – maybe. This little guy features one-touch controls and a rechargeable battery which allows up to 3 hours of talk time and 100 hours of standby time.

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler

Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters. According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.

We've recently been hearing rumors that Nokia is working on a phablet and a tablet. The Finnish manufacturer is yet to confirm anything, but according to a report by Reuters, Nokia is going to unveil new devices with “large screens” next month. Citing sources familiar with the manufacturer's plans, the report claims Nokia will be unveiling these new devices to revamp the Lumia lineup as well as challenge Samsung's dominance in the phablet market. Samsung is expected to unveil its brand new phablet, the Galaxy Note 3, in September as well.

Gran Turismo 6 to get exclusive concept cars from Aston, BMW, Nike and more

Much like a real conflict, the console wars being waged between Microsoft and Sony spill into a number of different battlefields and theaters. Home to some of the fiercest fighting is the racing genre, which sees Microsoft's Forza Motorsport series go head-to-head with Sony's Gran Turismo series. While there's been plenty of press about Forza, GT has just struck back with some news that we aren't sure Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft can match.

Armadillo-T electric car folds for easy storage

Armadillo-T electric car folds for easy storage

We've seen folding cars before, but a group of researchers from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) have designed an electric vehicle that curls up like an armadillo. The folding process of the Armadillo-T prototype is particularly clever due to its four in-wheel electric motors and 13.6-kWh battery tucked into the front half of the car, which allow it to pull the rear shell with the rear wheels over the passenger compartment at the press of a button. Casters drop down from the center of the vehicle to facilitate the folding action, which shrinks its 110-inch length down to 65 inches.

2013 Airstream Interstate 3500 EXT

LA To The Grand Canyon In The Mercedes-Benz Of RVs. Piloting an 8,500-pound motorized house down the highway is far from my idea of fun, yet inexplicably, I'm enjoying myself. My grin has nothing to do with my camper's handling, as this heavily accoutered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter drives like a 25-foot long breadbox. My smile has nothing to do with on-road stability, as the ten-foot-tall, slab-sided vehicle reacts to wind gusts like the vertical stabilizer on a Boeing jet.

Porsche 918 Spyder pre-production version in all its almost-done glory

Porsche continues the long tease of its upcoming 918 Spyder; the latest instantiation here at the Pebble Beach Concours with the car presented in pre-production form to the throngs on the golf course. Just a few days ago Porsche dropped an image of the car on its official Twitter feed. True to that leak, this 918 looks damn near what we expect the full customer version to be when it is officially debuted in Frankfurt.

Second day of RM's Monterey auction continues the million dollar madness

Second day of RM's Monterey auction continues the million dollar madness

RM Auctions' two-day event during the Monterey car week is pretty much a matter of appetizer and main course. Friday night's appetizer saw a trio of multi-million-dollar Ferraris, along with a pre-war Mercedes-Benz and a Jaguar D-Type. You can read all about those beauties right here. But as we said in that post, the action would really happen on Saturday night. The prices listed above include RM's ten-percent commission fee, and, as you'll see, the auction house did pretty well for itself.

We've already told you about the $27.5 million winning bid for the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder, with all the profits headed to charity.
