Dell launches 0.8-lbs projector that fits in your hand

According to the manufacturer, the M110 weigh about 0.8 lbs, integrates 1 GB of flash memory as well as a Micro SD card expansion slot and features VGA, HDMI and USB interfaces. There is also a 1W speaker, which would allow users to, if they have to, self-contained presentations, which, however, only support JPG files in such a scenario. Dell also offers a free utility to convert presentations for storage on an iPhone / Android phone to wirelessly stream a presentation to the M110 (which, however, requires the purchase of an optional wireless dongle for $70, in addition to the base price of $500 for the projector.

Google schedules ‘special event' for November 16th

. Google recently sent out invitations to an event on November 16th, during which the company will make a “special announcement.” The invite's tagline says: “These go to eleven,” a famous quote from the popular comedy This is Spinal Tap that takes you behind the scenes of a rock band. The quote suggests Google's event will have some sort of music focus, however Google also sent along an image of a T-Mobile logo spray painted on a building, so perhaps we'll hear about a new phone instead. We'll keep you updated with all of the details when the event kicks off at 5:00 p.m. EST on November 16th.

Unlocked iPhone 4S Now Already Selling In United States!

Until now, the iPhone 4S was being offered by AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint in the United States. Several other carriers in various parts of the globe are offering Apple's latest iPhone at a subsidized price. However, the sale of the iPhone 4S unlocked version started only with the US. Having an unlocked version of iPhone 4S refers to the ability to use a micro-SIM card offered by any carrier or service provider in the world, but there's a catch.

This is not true for CDMA networks, particularly including the likes of Verizon and Sprint.

A recent FCC filing has revealed that the Sharp Aquos SH-01D may be headed our way soon. The device was originally announced in Japan, and half the time those phones never make it stateside, which is kind of a pity since some of Japan's smartphone offerings are usually on the more interesting side. The FCC filing did not reveal anything new about the phone, although we're guessing certain Japan-only features have been removed, such as the built-in TV tuner feature that is common on most Japanese smartphones.

Add in water resistance and a whopping 12.1 megapixel camera, and you can see why it's piqued our interest. The phone is already booked to make an appearance in Japanese NTT DoCoMo stores later this month in blue, white and black options. Of course, despite Sharp's application for an FCC nod of approval, the company may have no intentions of selling it on US soil.

ARM Mali-T658 10X Faster than Today's ARM Mali 400MP GPU

GPU launch season is open. NVIDIA has just revealed its Tegra 3 system on a chip (SoC), which comes equipped with a graphics processor that is theoretically 3X faster than Tegra 2. Today, ARM announces its Mali-T658 GPU, a new design that ARM says is 10X faster than today's ARM Mali 400MP which can be found in the original Samsung Galaxy S2 Exynos chip. To give you a rough idea of how fast Mali 400MP is, it just about as fast as Tegra 2 in GLBenchmark 2.0 Pro, and it is much faster than Tegra 2 in the Nenamark 2 benchmark (see my GS2 review). So, multiply that by 10 and this is… really fast.

World of Warcraft: almost a million subscribers lost last quarter

It looks like Activision Blizzard's popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft, is finally starting to die out. At the company's recent financial report conference call for Q3 2011, it announced that it finished the quarter with 10.3 million active subscribers. Compared to the previous quarter this year, which it ended with 11.1 million active subscribers, the game has lost almost a million active subscribers. With WOW being Activision Blizzard's most profitable revenue-recurring business, this definitely isn't a very good sign. However, they did mention that they are working on developing new content to improve the game.

BGR has received information on HTC's upcoming Android smartphone. The device will be officially announced at next year's Mobile World Congress along with the HTC Edge. According to the New York Times, many of the industry's heaviest hitters have agreed to offer high-speed access for just $9.99 per month, fueling the FCC's efforts to reach the estimated 100 million Americans without an at-home internet connection.

We all know the story of how Artoo braved the sands of Tatooine to deliver Princess Leia's message to old Ben, but we never guessed that he encoded it as an MP4. Leave it to Toys 'R' Us to set the story straight: R2-D2 was a music player, C-3P0 was an overcomplicated set of earbuds, and MPEG-4 is apparently a galactic standard music format. Who knew. According to the droid's product page, it can hold up to 500 songs on 2GB of internal storage. There's also a questionable image (we're looking at you, Empire Photoshop brigade) promising video playback, photo storage, extras, settings and some sort of recording feature.

That's a bit cryptic, just as his series of tweets that eventually revealed his plans of departure from Twitter to the world. He also confirmed that Twitter (at least currently) does not have a replacement for him, but that we will know more about with passing time. In his tweets, he claims that his 2 years of work at Twitter looked like 10 years, and it indeed was the best of his career.
