A while back when the first beta of iOS 5 was released, within the code was spotted a hint that iOS 5 would have the ability to snap panoramic photographs. Sure, there are apps out there that will be able to do that for you, but having native apps usually trumps downloading, and sometimes even paying for, third party apps. Microsoft on Tuesday showed off a concept tablet running an early version of its next-generation Windows 8 operating system during a Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference presentation. The company briefly showed off the mysterious tablet, which touted a user interface that looks very similar to the tech giant's mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7. Windows Phone 7 itself will never find its way to a tablet, however, as Windows Phone boss Andy Lees stated during the show that a tablet should be able to do everything a PC can do.

Microsoft announced on Monday that it has sold 400 million Windows 7 licenses to date, but that hasn't stopped the tech giant's share of the global operating system market from sliding. According to market watcher Net Applications' data for June 2011, Microsoft's global operating system market share slid to 88.29% as it continued on its slow but steady decline. The second most popular OS in the world was Apple's OS X, which was up a nominal amount to 5.37% of the global OS market, followed by iOS with 2.63%, Java ME with 1.12% and Linux with 0.95%. Solar park arrives in Wales

Looks as though the Welsh are also doing their bit collectively by introducing a spanking new solar park which is tipped to convert abundant sunlight into electricity at the Rhosygilwen estate in Pembrokeshire. So far, nearly 10,000 solar panels have been imported from across the pond, and they will be carefully placed in a dozen lines in a six-acre field. The cost of the entire shebang. We are looking at a £2.5m investment that hopefully will kick start better things to come down the road.
