ITC bans several Samsung devices, President Obama has 60 days to review

The ongoing legal drama between Apple and Samsung continues, even long after Apple's billion dollar win last year. The latest development comes from the ITC which has issued a limited exclusion order on a handful of Samsung products. This was a follow up to an ITC judge's ruling back in 2012, who found Samsung guilty of violating Apple's design and technology patents. After the ITC's latest review, the design patents were dropped, but Samsung still found guilty of violating 2 patents: 7,479,949 relating to scrolling technology, and 7,912,501, dealing with the audio/microphone jack.

Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini Is In The Pipeline

Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini Is In The Pipeline

Ah, Alcatel – who would have thought that this particular company has managed to last this long in the smartphone market. While Alcatel's market share in the world of smartphones can be said to be miniscule – so much so that you can ignore them, they have not given up on the battle just yet. In fact, earlier this year, we have seen our fair share of handsets that fall under the Alcatel One Touch Idol family, including the One Touch Idol X and the One Touch Idol Ultra which was in with a shout to be the thinnest Android-powered smartphone in the market, too.

eBay Find of the Day: Ayrton Senna's 1993 Honda NSX

It's not often that things owned by the late Ayrton Senna come up for sale, but the seller of this black-on-black 1993 Honda NSX (aka, Acura NSX) eBay find claims it was once owned by the Formula One legend, and that he left a footprint on the factory carpet that can still be seen today. (Footprint, or vacuum lines?...). NSX no. T000999 was given to Senna as a gift from his mentor and sponsor, Antonio de Almeida Braga, the seller claims, and it was stored at a palace near the Estoril F1 circuit in Portugal.

Google Chromecast Amazon Orders Delayed Until October

Google Chromecast Amazon Orders Delayed Until October

Google announced its Chromecast a few weeks ago, and since then, a number of potential cable cutters have purchased the device, some as early as once the company was done with their presentation. Those folks probably are already enjoying their Chromecast, while others who waited to purchase their device are still waiting for their orders to ship, especially those who ordered it from Amazon. According to the WSJ, reports have been coming in saying customers who ordered the Chromecast in the first few days of its availability from Amazon will now have to wait until mid- to late October to receive their devices.

Asus PadFone Mini, MeMOFone HD 5, and MeMO Pad HD 8 revealed by leaked strategy slides

This day just seems to be filled with Asus-related news. After we found out the UK release dates for three of the company's newest tablets, now we get a glimpse at what the Taiwanese mobile device maker has coming soon. In a few words: more and more devices. The following slides have been leaked by VR-Zone, and they come from an Asus presentation that happened earlier today in France. The company discussed its strategy for the coming months, and let slip a couple of yet unheard of device names.

Take for example the Asus PadFone Mini. This should complement the PadFone Infinity in the company's portfolio.

1973 Lancia Stratos makes for a super cool barn find

1973 Lancia Stratos makes for a super cool barn find

Like a scene out of Forza Horizon, finding something like an ultra-rare 1972 Lancia Stratos is a dream. The Ferrari-engined, Bertone-bodied rally car is one of the automotive highlights of the 1970s, winning the World Rally Championship three straight times (1974, 1975 and 1976). And while there were some 492 road cars produced, none were formally exported to the United States. Which makes the appearance of this red, Stradale variant quite a find.
It's up for auction at Bonhams, which has a thorough rundown of this particular model. As we said, it's a Stradale (Italian for "street"), designed to fulfill FIA homologation requirements.

Hazard 4 calls their gear packs, bags, and apparel “progressive tactical” gear.  The company's name is derived from the “standard classification index of threats: '1' being low, '2 & 3' being moderate, to '4' being potentially deadly”.  Even if your job doesn't entail the threats that face our police, fire, and military personnel, your environment can pose a threat to your expensive camera equipment.  Hazard 4′s new Wedge SLR Carrying Case is made of Dupont 1000D Cordura fabric for durability and is heavily padded to protect your expensive SLR camera.

LG G2 sized up against the Samsung Galaxy S4

LG G2 sized up against the Samsung Galaxy S4

Mere hours before its official launch at the company's New York event, the LG G2 has showed its face again in a couple of live photos. Best of all, it poses right next to the Samsung Galaxy S4 begging for a comparison treatment. Both smartphones are dressed in white for the occasion, which really helps the comparison. The first thing that we notice is that the G2 is bit larger than the Galaxy S4 due to the 5.2" display. However, the LG G2 has far thinner bezels, so the difference is pretty minor.
Just as earlier leaks pointed out, LG has opted out of placing a physical buttons below the display.

Have Some Touchscreen Fun With Your Bathtub

Have Some Touchscreen Fun With Your Bathtub

For those of you who love spending plenty of time in the bathtub, perhaps you might want to keep yourself entertained while soaked with something slightly different from the usual suspects such as the yellow rubber duckie, a good book, a plate of cookies and a glass of milk. How about having some touchscreen action by your bathtub. That is now made possible thanks to a Kinect camera that has been mounted above the bathtub, working in tandem with other parts of the collective such as a projector, waterproof speakers as well as a PC.

2013 Ferrari FF (video)

2013 Ferrari FF (video)

The World's Fastest Four-Passenger is Frickin' Fabulous. "I miss my mommy.". Those frightened words floated from the mouth of a five-year-old boy strapped snugly into a booster seat in the backseat of the Ferrari FF I was piloting. Moments earlier, his father had allowed me to take him, and his two brothers, for their first ride in a supercar, and I had apparently failed miserably.

I craned my neck and moved slightly to the right, in an attempt to see him in the rearview mirror, before I asked with a cautionary tone, "What did you just say?" My mind raced during the next few seconds of silence.

If you were one of the lucky few (thousand) to get in on Day One Edition pre-orders, you'll be getting the same stuff as standard edition pre-order folks, albeit with some extra "Day One Edition" branding flair - the gamepad says "Day One Edition" on it and has a chrome d-pad, and there's an achievement exclusive to DOE owners. Both the standard and Day One editions cost $500, and both now include a wired Xbox One headset - something that was previously excluded from the retail box.

LG G2 Press Shot Leaked

LG G2 Press Shot Leaked

@evleaks has done it yet again – by revealing a leaked press shot of the upcoming LG G2 that will be fully unveiled to the masses later today. The leaked press shot does point towards the LG G2's front as well as back sides, and you can say that it is a good looking handset by far and large, without much to complain about. Hopefully it feels as good as it looks when you place it in the palm of your hand, and will the build quality be able to hold up in the long run.

Chevy lops $5,000 off price of 2014 Volt

Chevy lops $5,000 off price of 2014 Volt

In a similar move as the Nissan Leaf earlier in the year, Chevrolet has announced that it will cut the starting price of the 2014 Volt by around $5,000. For its fourth year on the market, the Volt will now have a starting price of $34,995 (*including $810 for destination), but there is no word yet as to when the new model year goes on sale. This new price compares to the $39,995 as-delivered sticker price from last year's model, and it means that the Volt can now potentially cost owners as little as $27,495 factoring in the $7,500 federal tax credit.

HTC One Max eats a 4″ phone in latest leaked photo. Teaser video released by HTC?

Another day, another HTC One Max leak. Oh, and this time we get a bonus teaser video too. The upcoming phablet codenamed T6 has been photographed again, this time getting compared to the 4-inch Motorola XT882 from two years ago. When you look at the image below (courtesy of ePrice), do keep in mind that because it's that old, the XT882 isn't a particularly svelte 4-incher. Nowadays a manufacturer could probably sneak a 4.3-inch panel inside the same frame.

Oppo N-Lens N1 cameraphone leaks with a 12MP shooter

It seems Oppo has decided to make its presence felt in into the world of cameraphones. If the leaked promo materials are to be believed, its first contender is going to be called the N-Lens N1. Featuring a 12MP camera, the Oppo N-Lens N1 doesn't appear to be too obsessed with sheer number of pixels. Rather, the company is said to use a new image chip dubbed "Owl". Judging by its name, low-light photography is going to be one of the chip's strong sides.

iPhone Thief Has His Life Unwittingly Documented On Tumblr

iPhone Thief Has His Life Unwittingly Documented On Tumblr

While we don't advocate the stealing of iPhones, we guess it is sort of common sense for a thief who stole the phone to disable the Find My iPhone feature, reset the operating system, and get rid of the current SIM card, all of which are pretty easy. However at the same time not all thieves were built the same way, and one thief from Dubai by the name of Burj Khalifa is a shining example of one of them.

It's about time you know what a Type-A person our managing editor Dana Wollman is (though a tendency to copy edit other people and benchmark laptops should have already been hints). In this edition, Dana makes a case for the personal finance app Mint.com, while Edgar (maybe a little Type-A himself) deals with a snap-on case for the sake of keeping his MacBook Pro scratch-free. I have a feeling Jony Ive cringes every time an accessory maker sketches something that's meant to cover up his wonderfully designed products.

Samsung Galaxy Folder Spotted In Leaked Photos

Samsung Galaxy Folder Spotted In Leaked Photos

We first heard of the Samsung Galaxy Folder just a few weeks ago, which may or may not usher the return of the clamshell form factor depending on where the device lands and just how popular it becomes. Just last week, the Folder's user manual was leaked, which confirmed its specs as it'll have a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB or RAM and will sport two 3.67-inch AMOLED displays. That wasn't the only Folder-related material that has been leaked recently as some images of the device in the real world has been leaked as well.
