The last time General Motors had a diesel passenger car in the US, it was the 1.8-liter 1986 Chevette. At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show today, GM is unveiling the much-anticipated 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel. The compact bows with a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine that boasts 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, with full twist coming on at just 2,000 rpm. What's more, the common-rail, direct-injection diesel features an overboost function that allows the engine to deliver up to 280 lb-ft of torque for 10 seconds at a time.

Although we're clear on what the McLaren P1 is packing outside, we still have no idea what's happening in the cockpit. McLaren has given us a teaser with a short clip of the reconfiguring, digital dash gauge. From the 47-second video it appears that in one setup there's a 9,000-rpm redline, with a gear indicator and "Manual" identifier to the right. Or if you're feeling racy you can have the gear indicator in the center and a row of green, red and blue lights, Formula One-style that replaces the tach display above, the speedometer then relegated to the corner.

Single people who are looking for love should talk about their travel plans and show off their holiday snaps if they want to attract potential partners, according to a new survey carried out by Intrepid Travel. The adventure tour operator’s poll of members from online dating site MySingleFriend.com found that eight in ten (79%) find a potential partner more attractive if their dating profile lists an interest in travel.  Nine in ten of those surveyed (89%) said people with an interest in travel are more adventurous.

It was just yesterday when we talked about how US launch partners of the HTC M7 would include AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, with Verizon more or less holding back after the amount of advertising investment that they have put into the Droid DNA. After all, most of what you would find on the HTC M7 (on paper based on existing rumors anyways) would be more or less similar to the Verizon Droid DNA.
