A year ago Amazon boldly launched a direct competitor to what was then known as the Android Market with a modest selection of around 4,000 apps. Twelve months later the service is celebrating its first birthday and solid growth to what now amounts to over 31,000 applications and games. To commemorate the occasion a sale is now taking place that will feature the store's top-selling apps, including Fruit Ninja, Splashtop Remote Desktop, and Wolfram Aplha among others. Starting today, Plants vs. Zombies is on sale for 67 percent off.
