Plastic bags are handed out for free when you shop in grocery stores, pharmacies, convenience stores, and gas stations among others. Most of the time you put them all in a drawer for future use, such as storing old toys or disposing baby diapers. At that rate, however, it would take a lot of time before you would be able to utilize every single bag, not to mention putting in more plastic bags.
