LG G Flex Launch Event Is On November 5th

Earlier this week LG announced its much awaited smartphone with a curved display, called LG G Flex. Prior to the announcement, the device had been seen in a number of leaks. LG announced this smartphone a few days after Samsung came out with its very own curved device, the Galaxy Round. It appears that LG intends to launch its device with much fanfare, local reports coming in from Korean media claim that a launch event has been scheduled on November 5th and that invites have already been sent out. LG is yet to reveal the release plans for G Flex, as per reports, the smartphone will first go on sale in the local market by mid-November.

A couple of days back we reported that Apple had acknowledged that a limited number of iPhone 5s devices were suffering from battery related issues due to a manufacturing defect. The issue might cause reduced battery life, longer charge time or even failure to charge at all. LG Nexus 5 is official, runs Android 4.4 KitKat

The leak storm is finally over, Google has just made the Nexus 5 official. The latest Nexus smartphone is manufactured by LG. It rocks a 4.95" LCD display with 1080p resolution, which adds up to a pixel density of 445 ppi. The good news keeps on coming with the addition of Gorilla Glass 3 for enhanced screen protection.
Inside the Nexus 5 is a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with four Krait 400 cores and Adreno 330 GPU. It's definitely not a slouch with 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat at the driver's seat.

In a traditional Google manner, internal storage options are either 16GB or 32GB with no microSD card slot to be found.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 has been spotted making its way through another Bluetooth SIG certification, and was even glimpsed in AnTuTu benchmark records. We first got a peek of the expected Galaxy Note 12.2 device back in early September. Back then all we knew was that there was an upcoming 12.2-inch slate from Samsung set to sport an Exynos 5 Octa chipset with a 2560 x 1600 pixel display.

Was just about to hit the hay for the evening when this came through the wire. Honestly, I'm not even entirely sure I'm not still dreaming in my onesie but here goes. Revealed in a press release just moments ago is Motorola's upcoming open hardware platform dubbed Project Ara. Yes, you heard right. According to Motorola, they want to do to hardware, what Android has done to software by creating an open based modular smartphone platform.

The goal is to have 3rd party developers create pieces of a phone that can be decided upon by the user, not unlike what we saw in the Phonebloks concept we showed you a few weeks ago.

LG G Flex Curved Display Smartphone Officially Introduced

LG's first curved display smartphone ‘G Flex' has just been officially introduced in South Korea. Running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, the handset sports a 6.0-inch 1280 x 720 OLED curved display, a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics, a 2GB RAM, a 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, dual cameras (2.1MP front & 13MP rear), a ‘self-healing' feature that will keep scratches away, volume buttons on the back, NFC, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 3500mAh battery. The G Flex will be commercially available in South Korea starting November, however, there's no word on pricing yet.

We saw the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for the first time at IFA in Berlin when it was unveiled alongside the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Now the device is available this month for 299.99 from all four carriers, and we spent some real-world usage time with a retail unit from Sprint. It has been a couple of days since the Microsoft Surface 2 as well as Surface Pro 2 has made its way to the US as well as another 20 countries, but I am quite sure that all of those are no larger than the regular tablet size. Why do I say this. If you happen to walk by the historic Trafalgar Square in London, there is no way you are going to miss this massive Surface 2 which has been constructed to measure 17-feet tall as well as 27-feet wide. You remember that batch of patent drawings we brought you a couple of weeks ago showing an unspecified Ferrari coupe. The interwebs were ablaze in speculation over what the car depicted could be, and we've been watching them all until we landed on the one that seems to make the most sense. While some speculated that this could be a new California, updated to look more like the F12 and FF, our friends over at Jalopnik suggest, with sound reason, that what we're actually looking at is what we figured in the first place: that this is a one-off FF-based coupe being built for a private customer.

BMW isn't supposed to debut the 2 Series until tomorrow, according to Carscoops, but that hasn't stopped these photos of the 1 Series Coupe replacement from leaking onto the web. First picked up by a BMW 2 Series enthusiast site, the photos eventually found their way around the web, and complement the spy images we showed you of the uncovered 2 Series from almost six months ago. This particular car is the M235i, and will serve as the range-topping 2 Series. As the number "35" is affixed to this car's tail, there's no question that the engine powering this example is BMW's turbocharged, 3.0-liter six-cylinder.

Nikon Germany To Focus On Full-Frame Nikon Products

Camera companies such as Nikon and Canon have released both full-frame and non-full frame cameras in the past, although with the focus starting to shift towards more compact cameras with full-frame sensors, such as Sony's recently announced A7 and A7r cameras, and with the rumours suggesting that Nikon could be exploring a similar device as well, we guess it's not too surprising that Nikon Germany has announced that they will start to focus on full-frame cameras and will be launching a dedicated website soon.

Finder. If you've so much as touched a Mac in the past decade, you won't be blindsided the first time you boot up Mavericks. Rest assured, everything is just where you left it. While Microsoft has made its way through a couple of UI overhauls over the past decade (some, admittedly, more successful than others), Apple's tinkered and tweaked and iterated, sprinkling in new features where it saw fit, but generally choosing not to mess with a good thing.
