Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 production stops, quad-core processor upgrade to blame

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 production stops, quad-core processor upgrade to blame

Production of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has apparently been stopped. The culprit is the Korean company's decision to upgrade the tablet's processor, from a dual-core part to a quad-core unit. This is exactly the same thing we've heard is happening to Samsung's other recently-unveiled 10-inch Android tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1. Samsung has a quad-core Exynos processor in the works, which is also widely expected to be in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, as originally announced, was a pretty strange device, since it didn't bring many internal upgrades compared to its predecessor.
