Boombotix is a San Francisco based company who originally started developing portable speakers for urban cyclists as an alternative to headphones. They currently have a Kickstarter project for a new speaker called the Boombot REX. The REX is an ultraportable 2.1 speaker system with a rugged ABS plastic body and a built in noise canceling microphone. It also features fully interchangeable grills, belt clips, Siri integration and is water-resistant so you can use it outside in rain or snow.
